Holy Mary, Mother of God,

We call upon you as the patroness of Africa and our community.

With an open heart you willingly said yes to the will of God to be the mother of Jesus our Saviour.

You know our life and history: the joy of good relationships and a good family which gives security, comfort and warmth. But you also know our concern and anxieties in the training and educating of our children, in securing a regular job and a guaranteed income. You know too that it is not always easy to find a new home away from home.

Be close to us with your motherly care and love and be our companion in all the experiences of our everyday life.

You told the servants at the wedding feats at Cana to “do whatever Jesus tells you!” Help us to look up to him, to listen to him and to be obedient to him and so come to the father through him.

Mary, star of the see, be our guide and orientation. Help us to contribute to a world where justice and peace will be possible for all – and let us begin here!

Make our efforts for good relationship and reconciliation fruitful. Give us keen and attentive heart for one another and make us proactive  in helping one another.

Holy Mary, our mother and our patroness, pray for us!
